Simple body twists can work abdominal. oblique, spine, neck, shoulder, pelvis and leg muscles. There are health benefits that may be achieved including:
• maintain normal spinal rotation,
• relieve back pain,
• cleanse and detoxify the body, and
• mental well being.
Start twisting with simple seated twist that can be done almost anywhere and any time. Try this twist whilst sitting at your computer.
First make sure you are not thrusting your ribs upwards. Simply breathe out and drop the bottom of the ribs down so they line up with your ASIS (hip bones). Then take your right hand onto the outside of your right leg and the left hand behind your body. Twist. See if you can keep your hips still and twist from your torso. Repeat on the other side.
